 Thermowood: Wood changes its molecular structure through a kind of "baking" at high temperatures in such a way that the wood sugar caramelizes and thereby closes the pores. The heat gives the wood a noble, dark color and is henceforth called thermowood. The wood can then absorb little or no moisture and becomes practically insensitive. Now it is ideally suited for all products in the bathroom to the sauna in which wood is constantly exposed to high levels of moisture.
